Sarah Patterson is a PhD candidate in English at the University of Delaware. She specializes in 19th c. African American literature, race and gender studies and digital humanities. Sarah’s dissertation examines Black intellectual cultures through the lens of Black women writers’ educational thought. Sarah is a co-founder and Co-coordinator for the award-winning Colored Conventions Project. She will co-edit the forthcoming volume, Colored Conventions in the Nineteenth Century and the Digital Age.
